An intimate look at nature through the lens of Carolyn Meltzer...

In her very first one-woman show, Carolyn Meltzer explores nature in a way that most of us do not notice.  There is an unexpected smaller world to consider if we take the time to notice.  It is sensual, complex and reflects very similar attributes as the larger world we live in ... it only takes an artist's eye to capture it and remind us that we are nothing more than a part of this world and not necessarily its master.

Opening Reception for the artist January 21 from 7pm to 10pm.  The show runs from January 21 through March 10.

Rose Squared Gallery           & Framing

Considered the 'best little frame shop in town,'  I have expanded to a new downtown Decatur location on the Old Courthouse Square.  The most exciting news though, is that it has given me the space for a gallery to feature prominent and upcoming artists and a classroom to teach painting in watercolor and drawing.  It also allows me the opportunity to show my own paintings and drawings.  I hope everyone comes by to say hello and look around.

What We Do

Our philosophy is simple and clear:  Every piece that is brought to us is special to you, the customer. We enjoy taking the time to help you choose just the right framing for your artwork, photos, diplomas, whatever you bring in for expert treatment. Our reward is the smile (usually the BIG smile) on your face as you leave with your newly framed work of art.

We believe you will enjoy the experience of Rose Squared and walk away feeling confident in good design advice to help you choose.  Our moulding choices are top quality and the most diverse on the market.  Most are hand finished in Italy, the country where the tradition of framing began.  Larson-Juhl and Roma are the two most requested suppliers.  To carry the project to completion, we stock only the best in framing materials with all archival products to help protect your pieces for long life within their new setting.

 The Gallery is designed to be a peaceful open space with beautiful works to sell without our visitors being pummeled  with visual overload.  You can relax, sit and ponder on a comfortable sofa or chair while you're looking around.

I am very accessibly located 1/2 block off Ponce de Leon directly in front of the Old Courthouse on Clairemont Avenue.  The red awning with the big 'square rose'  logo is  unmistakable .  Emile Baran's Music Showroom sits right next door with a metered parking lot in front and just across the street.
